‘Walk for Peace’: Buddhist monks arrive in in Washington after 108-day journey

A group of Buddhist monks have completed a months-long pilgrimage across the United States, travelling more than 3,700km (2,300 miles) on foot through eight states. The ‘Walk for Peace’ began in Fort Worth, Texas, last October with 19 monks and has drawn thousands of supporters along the way. The monks say their mission is to spread a message of universal peace, compassion and loving-kindness, arriving in Washington at a time of deep political tensions in the country.Al Jazeera’s Manuel Rapalo reports from Washington, DC.Subscribe to our channel: http://bit.ly/AJSubscribe Follow us on X: https://twitter.com/AJEnglish Find us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/aljazeera Check our website: http://www.aljazeera.com/ Check out our Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/aljazeeraenglish/ Download AJE Mobile App: https://aje.news/AJEMobile#UnitedStates #WalkForPeace #WalkForPeaceDC #PeaceWalk #AlokathePeaceDog #BuddhistMonks #MonksWalkForPeace #PeaceAcrossAmerica #SaffronRobes #WalkForPeaceUSA #PeacePilgrimage
